Changelog
What's new
Every release of the editor and the website, newest first. Versions refer to the embedded builder.
-
Editor
Clearer maps and more control over their look
- Add a map legend from the left sidebar and choose whether to include the legend, title and scale bar when exporting
- Choose Outfit or Fraunces for map labels and the legend, with fonts served from the builder itself
- Adjust the curvature of roads, paths and fences
- Rocks, trees and lighting stay out of the legend

More ways to draw and save your campsite
- Fences, hedges, stone walls and metal railings have more realistic artwork
- {"Choose from six road and path surfaces": "asphalt, gravel, dirt, compacted path, forest trail and cobblestone"}
- Draw a gravel road freehand
- Save a map from the demo by creating an account; your first saved campsite is free
- The Save button stays visible on smaller screens, and the separate Preview button has been removed
-
Editor
Simpler sidebar and selection locking
- Tents now appear first when you open the elements sidebar
- Removed older pitch, cabin, parking, dock, pond, river, walking path, road and building elements from the sidebar; existing maps still display them
- Select several elements and use the Lock button to lock them together
- Move, resize and rotate a background image directly on the map
- Improved compatibility when opening maps saved with older widget versions
-
Performance
Faster loading, especially on older machines
- Maps with many soft-edged terrain strokes load about twice as fast: the blur halo is now drawn only around each stroke instead of over the whole map
- Opening the editor allocates far fewer canvases, so an empty map appears almost instantly and loaded maps open up to three times faster
- Rendering output is unchanged pixel for pixel
-
Drawing tools
Fences, walls and a paint brush for objects
- Fences, hedges, walls and metal fences: click to draw them along any line in the new Fences & Walls tab
- Paint objects tab - build a palette of up to eight object types and scatter them under a brush
- Hand tool above the zoom buttons for dragging the map, also on shared read-only maps
- Dragging a multi-selection is far faster and no longer snaps every object onto the grid
- Objects placed while painting are clickable right after leaving the brush
-
Reliability
Saving you can trust
- Saving is confirmed by the server before the editor marks your work as saved; a failed save keeps the unsaved marker
- Campsite data and thumbnails are stored on our European CDN instead of the database
- The campsite name in the toolbar now updates the dashboard title
- Confirming the setup wizard stores the campsite immediately, so a reload never asks twice
-
Languages
Dutch, German and French
- The whole editor, including the object catalog, is translated into nl, de and fr
- Trace backgrounds can be hidden without removing them
- Terrain painting is smoother and blur behaves the same on every zoom level
-
Fix
Secure image loading
- Fixed images being blocked on https sites
- Releases are now published as immutable versions on the CDN
-
Editor
